Join us for 3 magnificent days scrambling/easy climbing on the world-famous Great Ridges of Ben Nevis.

We will base ourselves out of the CIC Hut: Britain’s highest and only truly alpine hut. At nearly 700m above sea level, nestled in the great northern corries of the Ben, it is an ideal place to explore the complexities of the mountaineers’ side of this fantastic mountain. With comfortable shared bunkroom accommodation, electricity, heating, kitchen, toilets and drying rooms, you are assured of a comfortable night (and less time spent walking in and out each day!) The climbs start almost from the front door, so maximised time on the rock is assured! We will also provide a group evening meal and breakfast on each day in the hut, included in the price. (Please let us know any dietary requirements when booking and we will endeavour to accommodate where possible). You just need to sort your own lunch!
Nevis’ Great Ridges consist of Castle Ridge (Grade III/Mod – 280m), Tower Ridge (Diff/V.Diff – 800m) and Observatory Ridge (V. Diff – 500m). If the weather is poor, then Ledge Route (grade I-III – 500m) or CMD Arete (grade I) are good fallback options, as are lower, more sheltered climbs on the buttresses. Likewise, if the team is strong and the weather is good, North-East Buttress (Severe) or other easy rock climbs may factor in the agenda.
The maximum ratio will be 1:2.
Rough Itinerary:
Day 1: Meet guide at North Face Car Park, allocate kit and walk in to CIC hut. Complete 1 scramble/climb
Day 2: A long day possible. Complete 1 scramble/climb
Day 3: Complete 1 scramble/climb. Retrieve kit from hut and descend to North Face Car Park
